Ask a dozen people what the best weight loss program is and you will get a dozen answers. So how can you separate the good information from the bad? How can you tell who is selling a product and who is trying to help? The answer is, “It depends.” It depends on your needs. But to help, here are some questions you need to ask before you purchase a program.

Are they selling pills?

If a company is pushing pills for a miracle weight loss, then be skeptical. While supplements are not all bad, you don’t want to be in the same or worse shape after you take them.

Is the program sustainable?

The best weight loss programs will be sustainable. It won’t be based on buying their food forever and it won’t be based on eating only one food. A good program will have you buying a variety of foods from local stores.

How is exercised involved?

Some people have the time to spend an hour in the gym while others do not. When selecting a plan, determine how much, if any, time they want you to work out. Even the best weight loss plan won’t do you any good if you can’t follow it. Be realistic about how much time you have a go from there.

What are the goals?

Not all plans are created equal. Some plans are easy fat loss plans. Other plans are designed to get you ripped abs and cut shoulders. So before deciding on a weight loss plan, determine what you really want to achieve.
