Anorexia and Breasts

by Macgrath

Anorexia is an illness that comes with loss of weight, physical and emotional problems. It is not a bad thing to lose weight but the affected persons lose too much weight and their lives are put into danger.

Bulimia is not exclusively caused by the changes of puberty, nor is it exclusive to women. Although 90 percent of bulimia cases occur in women, and most of these women begin to eat and vomit in their mid- to late-teens, bulimia nervosa can stem from diverse causes. Some people with bulimia are perfectionists. Some feel their weight reflects their self-worth. Being too heavy is a sign of failure. Some may be depressed, or unable to cope with the world.

Having tummy tuck surgery performed in Beverly Hills is part of the lifestyle of the rich and famous. It’s not by coincidence that gorgeous people blanket this city from the Hollywood Bowl to Virginia Robison Gardens. A city that is driven by fame and overindulgence of its residents. It should not be surprising that Beverly Hills is home of the cre’me de la cre’me of plastic surgeons.

BDD is a relatively common disorder that is often mis-diagnosed or under-diagnosed by mental health professionals. BDD is a mental disorder defined as a preoccupation with a perceived defect in one’s appearance. If a slight defect is present, which others rarely notice, the concern by the individual is markedly excessive. BDD is well known and appropriately diagnosed in Europe, but has been largely neglected in the United States.

In this day and age where size matter, the plus-size woman is left out in the cold, lonely and invisible. We do not exist, and our bodies are like rolls of fat, and who wants to see us naked. I always thought that beauty was in the eye of the beholder, and what you see is not entirely what you get all the time. A gorgeous woman lives in the eyes of Satan and we have to remember this fact.

It is important to wear clean clothes and be well groomed, but it is not important to have big breasts, a twenty-five inch waist, full lips, and a perfect nose. God made you the unique and special young girl that you are. Your nose, eyes, lips and chin is your uniqueness that sets you apart from looking like everyone else. Accept what God has given you and be content to be who it is you are.

We are living in a society where there are jeans that cost more than my entire wardrobe, and there are cars worth more than my house. Celebrities go on television showing us the million dollar homes, car collections, wardrobes, and jewelry items that they have acquired. Meanwhile there are still people starving in the streets, and children going hungry all over the country. It is crazy how people only think about themselves.

Many aspects of the concept of beauty are, in agreement with the aforementioned definitions, unhealthy. Few would argue that cosmetic surgeries can be risky, that scores of cosmetics on the market are "not conducive to good health" and that many of the worst offenders, weight-loss products, are "dangerous."
