The Best Diets for Weight Loss - No Promises

There are literally thousands of diet plans for you to choose from. The best diets for weight loss will not promise you rapid weight loss beyond the first couple of weeks. A good plan will produce a weight loss of 1 – 3 pounds per week and will be sustainable. By sustainable I mean that the plan is not so difficult that you will be unable to adhere to it.

The best diets for weight loss should contain the following -

1.  A meal plan that flexible and will allow you to eat your favorite kinds of foods and treats. It also should not starve you but encourage you to eat the right kinds of food.

2. An exercise program that you can fit to your level of fitness. Aerobic exercises  are the best to begin with but you should also add resistance exercises to your daily routine. Resistance exercises will build more muscle and the more muscle you have the higher your rate of metabolism. The higher your metabolism the more calories your body will burn.

3. Drink more water and avoid alcohol, soda's and sugared drinks. You will be amazed at how many calories this can cut out of your diet.

4. Eat more meals. Sounds crazy doesn't it but by eating more meals with smaller portions you don't get as hungry. When you go long periods of time without eating your body's metabolism will slow between feedings. When you eat several times a day your body maintains its higher rate of metabolism.

All diets take work. The best diets for weight loss will keep this to a minimum and allow you to enjoy most of the foods you already enjoy.
